Almost one third of consumers within the UK intend to buy Mother's Day cards and gifts this year with online searches beginning one month before and continuing right up to the day itself. In fact, 70% of UK customers will complete their Mother's Day shopping this week!
So what does this mean for PPC advertising?
This is a prime opportunity to drive your online sales and beat the competition. We will be taking advantage of this period for all of our clients in relevant industries. Our recommendations for you are as follows:
- Increase your PPC budget: Industries that are exceptionally popular during this period should be ramping up their PPC budget this week to deal with the increased demand and queries. These industries include personalised gifts, flowers, chocolates and cards.
- Don't ignore mobile: A whopping 65% of all Mother's Day queries came through mobile in March 2015 - make sure it is an integral part of your campaign.
- Use countdown ads: It is important to create a sense of urgency for purchase to ensure your customers make delivery deadlines. This is a great opportunity to highlight if you offer free next day delivery or other appropriate offers!
- Utilise Remarketing and RLSA: This is the perfect time to target users who have visited your site or purchased from you before.
